Jim Harp was born in Harrison, Ar. 10-1-49. He grew up at Marble Falls, Ar. on a family farm.Jim graduated from Harrison High School, attended Ar. Tech and the University of Ar. and received bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Arkansas. He has taught at North Arkansas College, is a retired stockbroker, and became a realtor in 1996. Jim has two sons and seven grandchildren. He is a member of Kiwanis, serves on the board of Equity Bank and Boone County Farm Bureau. Jim and his wife Carolyn attend First Methodist Church.
